The problem
Speed is the most measured quality in sport and the worst measured at grassroots level: stopwatches lie by tenths of seconds, and professional timing systems cost more than most clubs’ annual budgets.
How it works
SprintScope is a lightweight device that measures an athlete’s sprint speed and delivers instant, detailed feedback to athlete and coach. The concept won first place among eight teams at QSTP’s 15th XLR8 Demo Day in Doha (May 2025), earning QSTP office space, mentorship and investor access — and by October 2025 founder Giuliano Palazzi was pitching it again at QSTP’s Impact Engine webinar launch.
Pain points
Hand-timing noise that swallows real progress, elite-only hardware, and video apps that trade a training session for an evening of frame-scrubbing.
Business model
No public pricing yet — hardware pricing and channel (clubs vs. academies vs. direct) still to be proven.
Challenges
QSTP’s own Impact Engine feedback named the crux: SprintScope must clearly differentiate from basic phone-camera tools and prove professional-grade accuracy — then manufacture at a price grassroots coaches can actually pay.
Funding
- Raised: nothing disclosed — paper stage, funding MISSING.
- Valuation: MISSING.
Latest — October 2025
Palazzi Instruments pitched SprintScope at QSTP’s Impact Engine webinar launch, moving from accelerator winner toward fundraising — with sharpen-your-differentiation homework from the mentors in hand.
