The problem
A federation playing away from home watches its sponsors vanish: the stadium boards belong to someone else’s market, and the home broadcast feed carries none of its brands.
How it works
Sponix’s cloud platform SPboard takes the live programme feed — no on-site hardware, no special cameras — and uses AI to find the active camera, track billboards and 3D carpets, and separate players, officials, and the ball from the background. Sponsor messages tailored by territory, language, or audience are composited in and the feed goes back to the broadcaster. A second product renders immersive replays from the players’ on-field perspective for broadcasts and social clips.
Pain points
Static boards seen identically worldwide, away federations with nothing to sell sponsors, and flat replays in an era of personalised feeds.
Business model
Commercial agreements with leagues, football associations, and broadcasters — deployments like the Jordan FA’s away-match feeds and the Conmebol qualifiers package with Lions Sports — plus licensing of its replay technology.
Challenges
FIFA and AFC centralised rights deals are largely out of reach; every rollout needs integration with host broadcasters; and established virtual-advertising vendors fight for the same premium rights.
Funding
- Raised: strategic investment from the UK’s Aser Ventures in August 2022 for an undisclosed amount, bringing network access including Eleven and Leeds United (The Technology Express).
- Valuation: MISSING.
Latest — September 2026
In September 2026 the Jordan Football Association deployed Sponix’s SPboard so sponsors stay visible on the localised feed whenever Jordan plays abroad: “Without Sponix’s virtual advertising technology, JFA’s sponsors would have had no brand visibility during these away matches,” founder and CEO Mohammad Ali Abbaspoor told BroadcastPro.
