The problem
When lockdowns closed shops, selling online became the rescue — but only with reliable logistics behind it. Businesses across Palestine and Saudi Arabia needed affordable same-day delivery, while building private fleets was prohibitively expensive and legacy couriers could not keep pace.
How it works
WeDeliver is an asset-light B2B last-mile network headquartered in Riyadh. Businesses hand it their delivery needs; the platform fulfils them through crowdsourced freelance drivers (“captains”) and crowdsourced warehouses, promising same-day delivery for same-city shipments. Captains are onboarded through virtual training sessions, equipped with real-time tracking technology, and retrained on safety procedures — with the company issuing special permits and arranging daily with local authorities during lockdowns.
Pain points
Costly in-house fleets, slow couriers with no live tracking, lockdown-era dependence on delivery for survival, and hundreds of freelance captains relying on the platform as their primary income — pressure that forced WeDeliver to keep running at full capacity through the crisis.
Business model
B2B delivery services on an asset-light base: businesses pay per delivery fulfilled by the crowdsourced fleet, letting WeDeliver scale across cities without owning vehicles or warehouses while monetising growing shipment volume.
Challenges
Sustaining 600+ captains’ earnings and safety through permits, retraining, and compliance; operating across fragmented Palestinian and Saudi city environments under movement restrictions; and holding cost advantage against asset-heavy carriers and retailers’ own fleets.
