The problem
Construction materials eat a huge share of project budgets, yet procurement in the Kingdom ran on manual supplier visits, phone negotiations, and disconnected logistics — opaque prices, uncertain quality, long delivery times, and contractor cash-flow gaps that slowed execution.
How it works
Contractors, distributors, and factories post requests for quotations on BRKZ’s platform and get competitive prices back within minutes from its AI pricing engine. BRKZ then acts as the single procurement counterparty: it sources local, imported, and raw materials through its Saudi network plus international supply corridors, and manages quality assurance, logistics, and flexible commercial terms — including embedded financing — end to end.
Pain points
Physical travel to suppliers, uncertain quality and pricing, lengthy delivery times, fragmented supply chains with no price transparency, and working-capital gaps for contractors caught between project milestones.
Business model
A tech-enabled managed marketplace: BRKZ earns on the building materials flowing through the platform — more than $133M (SAR 500M) sold since inception with $1.37B in RFQs processed — and layers embedded financing and flexible payment terms for its contractor and factory network.
Challenges
The $13M Series B equity round remains open to additional strategic investors; pushing deeper into embedded financing means underwriting contractor credit risk; and continued regional and supply-chain disruption keeps stress-testing fulfilment. Competition is also heating up as more capital chases Gulf contech.
Funding
- Raised: $31M in new capital (Sep 2026) — $13M Series B equity co-led by Wa’ed Ventures and 500 Global with BECO Capital and ANB Capital, plus $18M in growth debt from Stride Ventures under its previously announced $30M venture-debt facility.
- Total: more than $70M in equity and debt raised since inception (Wamda, Sep 2026).
- Earlier in 2026: undisclosed strategic investment from SIC, the investment arm of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund.
